Sunday proved to be a very good day for all of us. After going to church we decided to splurge and go to the Peruvian restaurant in town called My Tierra. They had enlarged their store/restaurant and this was the first time we had been in the new area that was dedicated to just the restaurant. It was a great meal for all. I had a beef empenada for an appetizer and aji de gallina. Connie had a Tamale and Mili had Papa Rellenos for their appetizers and then they shared Pollo a la Braza for their meal. Johnny had Salchipappa (cut up hotdogs and fries) and Novalee had some of the pollo that Mili tore into small bites. We all drank Inka Cola except for Novalee. Towards the end of the meal I decided to break from my normal pattern and try something different and was rewarded for it. Mi Tierra has introduced some drinks similar to smoothies that they call splashes that combine mostly Andean fruits and milk and after asking Connie and Mili about what lucuma (pronounced loo-koo-mah) was like I decided to try the Preuvian Splash. It was the perfect end of the meal. We all had full bellies and the drink was so good it was unbelievable. Johnny was the only one who would not drink it because he said he didn't like it even though he hadn't tried it. As you can see from the picture and video Novalee loved it. I bought some of it in frozen pulp form and Mili made some for us at home the next day and Novalee had two bottles full of it. If you've never had it before and you get the chance do yourself a favor and have one. You won't regret it. According to Connie and Mili Lucuma ice cream is even better so you can bet we'll be trying it soon.
