After The Show
After the concert there was a room opened up that had activities for the children like making a milagros and the one he gravitated to at the end where you were able to look at rocks and things with magnifying glasses. Johnny's hurt feelings were forgotten entirely as he immersed himself in these activities. Grupo Fantasma actually had another set to play (tickets weere only $10 each) but we had to leave since I had an appointment to go home teach. I really wish that I had been able to see both sets and that Connie had come with us because I know she would have enjoyed it. Maybe next time.

Johhny Goes To A Concert
This past Sunday I took John to a concert by Grupo Fantasma (Austin, Tx not Peru) and it was a great time. I've wanted to see them for years so now I can mark them off of my concert wish list. It was sponsored by the Tulsa Children's Museum (which doesn't actually have a building yet) and was aimed at children and families. The band encouraged children and adults alike to get up and dance or just move in the aisles in any way they felt like. About two songs in Johnny told me he wanted to dance so I took him down into the aisle and after he barely moved for a bout a minute he told me that he was done and wanted to go back to his seat. From there he did not wish to get up again and even wanted me to stop tapping my hands along with the music. Towards the end the band started pulling some of the children up onto the stage to play percussion instruments. Johnny wanted to go up on the stage but didn't want to go down front to be picked. I finally got him to go down front by going with him but it was too late. They had already gotten all that they could handle and he was not happy about it so he went back to his seat and got angry when I tried to take his picture. Still, it was a great show by a great band and at least I had a lot of fun.

Vale Todo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video is over a month old but I finally got it on here. For some reason I couldn't get it to upload straight to Blogger so ultimately I had to use Youtube. Johnny wanted to beat me up so her got the gloves out and said let's do vale todo. He's fun when he wants to do this but I need to be careful because he's getting so big. By the way, I've lost weight since this was taken, just saying.

Tickling the ivories keys
Connie found a muaic school and yesterday I took Johnny there to see if the teacher felt that he was ready to start learning about music. She said that he was intelligent, a fast learner and concentrated very well. She feels that usually four year olds don't do well learning music but that he will do fine and she would be happy to teach him. Stay tuned to see how he does. The only downer is that it will cost $27 (half an hour) per week but if it can help him get interested in music I'm all for it. He's also going to start playing futbol (soccer) so maybe next week at this time I'll have some pictures or video to share. He's growing so fast........

Update on Connie
Connie went to the doctor today and the good news is that her blood clot has decreased from 2.6 to 1.8 centimeters in the last week so for now surgery is not necessary. Of course there are no guarantees that can be made but for now she needs to continue her medication and has a followup CAT Scan in 6 weeks and then will see the doctor. With a lot of luck and prayer it will be gone by then. The doctor thinks that the clot is older and that by the time it was discovered it was already dissolving on it's own. Good news in our house today. Stay tuned for future updates.
