Johnito Finally Tries Lucuma, And Likes It

We've been trying to get Johnny to try different foods because all he ever wants to eat is chicken nuggets. Slowly but surely he is starting to eat more but it's usually a fight to get him to try anything the first time. Today we had chaufa and he's fine with that, it has rice, hotdogs and chicken in it and he likes all of those things. Connie also made smoothies from a very delicious Peruvian fruit called lucuma and when he saw it he said he didn't like it, he wanted the pink. She had made strawberry smoothies the week before and it was hard to get him to try that but now he was saying that's what he wanted. The battle was on and he was crying and refusing to drink it and only wanted to watch the tv.



At one point he kicked out against my leg and his chair fell backwards but was caught on something behind him so he was okay but he wanted me to set his chair straight. I told him that since he got himself there then he needed to get himself back. Well of course he switched to Momma and she came around the table and set his chair forward and tried to calm him and then finally got him to take one drink followed by another. When he turned his head I whispered to her to not mention it again. Sure enough he started asking for her to give him a drink of the lucuma smoothie. This part of his personality I have gotten figured out. He will throw a screaming, crying fit and then give in and at that point if you don't make a big deal of it he accepts it and actually starts to like it. I just wish I could figure out everything else.

Catching up with Johnito

Connie took Johnito to a Kids Play thing downtown about 2 weeks ago and I finally decided to get the pictures from the camera. He had a police badge sticker that he absolutely loved. Guess it makes him think of Woody from Toy Story or something. I'm just surprised they got him out of the police car. The last time that happened he refused to get out and threw a big fit.

Recent pictures

Here are some pictures taken yesterday at a local park. John would run into the water just a little and then run out squealing. After a few moments he would run in again, gradually getting in farther and farther until he was soaked.






A few weeks ago we had a brief hailstorm and Connie had never seen it before, never experienced it at all and she wanted a picture to show how big it was.
