Tulsa Air & Space Museum 12/27/08
On Saturday Dec 27th John, Mili, Bertha and I went to the Tulsa Air & Space Museum. John enjoyed the airplanes quite a bit and didn't want to get out of them. The show at the Planetarium was very cool although John did decide to take a nap during it. No pictures of that since they don't allow photography inside the dome.

November pictures of John
This picture is from a friend of Connie's wedding on 11/28/08. The bride and groom are having their first dance together as husband and wife. As you can see John is completely entranced. The groom is Steve and the bride is Ysabel.

Futbol
Today we decided to have some family time by going to watch University of Tulsa play Marshall University in futbol (that's soccer to all the gringos out there). Unfortunately we forgot to bring the camera. It was a beautiful night and we had a lot of fun. John roamed around and flirted with all the girls and we even had some free pizza. It doesn't get any better than that, right? Tulsa won 3-0 after a somewhat lackluster 1st half. I have a personal connection to Marshall since I lived in Huntington, WV (where Marshall is located) for about 5 years and even volunteered at Marshall's radio station where I did a ska & reggae radio show for almost 3 years. Now I am in Tulsa and I have to say that I root for Tulsa University. I do check up on Marshall every week in football season and from time to time in other sports but am torn when they play against each other. When it came time to go to the game I discarded my earlier plan to wear a Marshall t-shirt and a Tulsa ball cap and instead just wore my brand new Night Ranger t-shirt that I got while seeing them play at the Tulsa State Fair earlier in the month. Afterwords we went grocery shopping which is always oh so much fun. The idea was to spend time together and enjoy ourselves which we did. Any ideas for what we should do together next time? Leave a comment and we'll see what happens.

Johnito & Connie at the fair
Here are some pictures of Johnito and Connie at the Tulsa State Fair. We decided to go on Wednesday, October 1st mainly so that I could see Night Ranger who were playing that night. If you want to know what I thought of Night Ranger (and see a few pictures) go to
http://www.notmovingpictures.blogspot.com/ and see for yourself. At least I am trying to get that one updated soon.

John had his checkup today at the doctors. He's 17 months old give or take a day and measured in at 35 inches tall and 32 pounds 6 ounces. Of course he's still over 100% for his age as he has been since the day he was born. Luckily for him he doesn't have to go back for 6 more months. Let's just say he didn't enjoy the experience of getting 2 shots. Afterwards we visited my job to let everyone see just how much he has grown. For his visit he was awarded with lots of candy and on the drive home he quickly fell asleep. That's all for now.

Johnito swinging
Check out Johnito swinging at the park. This should show you how big he has gotten. He'll swing for as long as you let him. Just don't go very high, for now.
This is on the way to the Illinois River where we went rafting. John's having fun listening to the music.

Pictures of Johnito

Here he's discovering the joys of playing in sand.
He was amazed when he saw this area.

And of course here he figured out he could sit in the cabinet, it's just his size once he moved some of the pots and pans out of the way
For this final picture here we are at the Illinois River in Tahlequah. We went rafting with a few people. Normally they don't let such a young child go but the river was low. Unfortunately he hated wearing his life jacket and Connie left his bottles in the car. All in all we had a good time, John really loved it when we stopped and swam, he's a little water dog. I'll post some more later this week if I can get the computer to work. Later......................
